The Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Exploitation and Neglect of People with Disability or the Disability Royal Commission (DRC) will not award compensation to people making a submission or order people to take actions at this stage.
Your submission will instead be used to help the DRC determine how abuse can be prevented in the future.
To report a historical or current crime, you can speak with police or get legal advice.
People with Disability Australia (PWDA) encourages you to share your story and has disability advocates available to help you.
You can also access the specialist Blue Knot DRC counselling service on weekdays on 1800 421 468 and the Your Story disability legal support service on weekdays on 1800 771 800.
