The three-year Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Exploitation and Neglect of People with Disability, or Disability Royal Commission (DRC), is examining abuse people with disability have experienced in their life.
The DRC has already looked at more than one thousand people’s experiences in a variety of settings. These include schools, homes and housing, and with healthcare.
People’s experiences in the criminal justice and emergency services systems and at work are also being looked at by the Commission.
The DRC has produced issues papers on a variety of topics, including people’s experiences in various places, the experience of First Nations people with disability, restrictive practices and their rights and attitudes. You can have your say on these papers and issues.
